Faxon Firearms has introduced a new series of pistol compensators called EXOS. These compensators feature one large top port for muzzle rise compensation and angled side slots that “allow gas to deflect upwards as opposed to only deflecting sideways, reducing up and down muzzle movement and improving reliability“. Let’s take a closer look.

Faxon Firearms @ TFB:

Faxon Firearms EXOS pistol compensators are made of 6061 aluminum and have a black anodized finish. These compensators are threaded with the 1/2×28 thread pitch and are optimized for Faxon threaded barrels to fit flush with the slides of the host pistols. They will fit flush with other brands of threaded barrels too if these barrels protrude over the slides by .600″ or less. For more detailed information, click here to read the Faxon Firearms article on the design and performance of EXOS compensators.

Currently, the following three models of Faxon EXOS pistol compensators are available:

  • EXOS-513 – Faxon FX-19 Hellfire, Glock 19 Gen 3, Glock 17 Gen 3, Glock, Glock 34 Gen 4
  • EXOS-514 – M&P 1.0 Full-Size 4.25”
  • EXOS-515 – SIG P320 Full-Size

The following additional compatibility information is quoted from Faxon Firearms’ website:

Additional compatibility:

– Additional generations of Glock® 17, 19, 34

– M&P® 2.0 Compact 4” & Full-Size 4.25”

– SIG® P320 Compact/Carry

Faxon Pistol Compensators are not specifically engineered for these ‘Additional Compatibility’ models and should only be used on those models by the discretion of the end-user. Compensators can affect the timing of your pistol and may require adjustments in lubrication, ammunition, and other areas.

The prices for all models of Faxon EXOS pistol compensators are identical – $85. These comps come with all the hardware and tools necessary for the installation (two 6-32 set screws, 1/16 Allen wrench, thread locking compound). Below you can find the installation tutorial video.
