The Trijicon SRO is one of my absolute favorite red dot optics for pistol competition shooting. However, unlike most of Trijicon’s other pistol red dot offerings, the SRO makes a compromise in terms of durability in order to gain a larger window to look through. Jagerwerks has recently introduced its latest aftermarket innovation by releasing the Trijicon SRO Battle Ready Optic Shield (B.R.O.S.). The Battle Ready Optic Shield is designed to increase the durability and resistance to impacts that the SRO has to protect it from inadvertent bumps, drops, and collisions.

The Battle Ready Optic Shield is sold for a price of $50 and customers can purchase up to two units at a time for now. Close observation of the B.R.O.S. reveals that there is an intentional slight bend on the right-hand side of the shield which is intended to aid in deflecting brass away from the shroud and optic during firing. For those that carry their pistol and SRO in a Safariland holster, Jagerwerks is currently working with Ghostmen Designs to provide their customers with holster modifications that will allow their Safariland holster to better accommodate the Battle Ready Optic Shield and SRO combo.
